With a new legislative session and major elections just over the horizon, 2024 is sure to be a busy one for Common Cause Nebraska! We'll be weighing in on important issues, fielding an Election Protection program to protect voters' rights, and driving the conversation on campaign finance and redistricting reforms.

LINCOLN, NE — After Nebraska voters passed Initiative 432, a voter ID ballot measure, by a 66%-34% vote margin, Common Cause Nebraska is calling on the unicameral to implement sensible requirements.

I would hope that the people of Nebraska and our legislators would want to expand voter participation rather than spend tax dollars unnecessarily and limit citizen’s access to the ballot. Here’s hoping our legislators make an intelligent decision.

Voter ID returns to the Nebraska Unicameral, but a broad coalition, including Common Cause Nebraska, will oppose the bill.
