More Victories for Good Government!

Last night 50 members of the NM House of Representatives voted to advance a constitutional amendment to create an independent ethics commission in New Mexico!

Rep. Jim Dines (R-Abq) and Rep. Jeff Steinborn (D-Las Cruces) are the sponsors.  This bipartisan support represents the 86% of New Mexico’s voters who want this commission created in our state.

And….another win today!

HB 137, Lobbying Expenditure Reporting sponsored by Rep. Jeff Steinborn (D-Las Cruces) passed the House Judiciary Committee unanimously.  

House Bill 137 amends the Lobbyist Regulation Act to require lobbyists to list separately by recipient, the cumulative total of expenditures made or incurred by the lobbyist or their employer.  Another great move forward to add more disclosure of lobbyist activities to the public!
