If you agree that every eligible voter deserves to have their voice count, you can take action to stop voter suppression.
Be apart of Common’s Action Team.
We need your help to protect voters’ rights from the unprecedented threats they will face this year when trying to cast their ballot. Action Team volunteers like you will be voters’ first line of defense against restrictive election laws, coronavirus-related voting disruptions, or anything else that could silence their voices.
Here’s what you can do:
Textbank with Common Cause:
Whether its reaching out to voters to make sure they know their polling place, or recruiting supporters for a ballot initiave for Democracy reform, textbanking with Common Cause is a great, easy, and accessible way to make a difference. We host textbanks using an app so it isn’t from your personal phone number – and you can text thousands of people in a matter of minutes. Textbanking is a great way to reach as many voters as possible, but only if you help! Join our action team at www.commoncause.org/joinslack and keep an eye on the #textbanking channel for opportunities!
Phonebank with Common Cause:
Phonebanking is a great way to call activists all over the country and give them the final push they need to contact their reps to pass progressive democracy reforms. Sign up to phonebank here!
Social Media Monitoring with Common Cause:
Looking for a creative, remote, digital election protection opportunity? As a social media monitor, we will teach you how to monitor platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Next Door, and TikTok to help assist voters who post questions about voting and elections online and to flag misinformation and disinformation. We will also give you all the tools you need to post the correct information on your own social media to protect the vote. Sign up for the training below.
Sign up for a shift to monitor social media, make calls, or text in key states to connect them directly and make sure they’re ready to take part in the 2020 election. You can make a major difference for voters in your community by signing up for a shift today — we will reach out with all the information you need to get started.
Training will be sent to your email once you sign up for a shift.
