Rhode Island Commerce board doesn’t stream or record its meetings. And it’s not alone.

Below is executive director John Marion’s comment on the lack of hybrid public access at the RI Commerce Corporation’s board meetings. 

Just because state law allows it doesn’t mean it’s a good practice, said John Marion, executive director for Common Cause Rhode Island.

“It’s 2024,” Marion said. “It’s really not that big of a burden for public bodies with large budgets.”
