Ethics appointee quits, Governor’s office admits mistake

Government watchdog group Common Cause Rhode Island Executive Director John Marion wrote in a statement, “We’re relieved that Bryant Da Cruz has resigned from the Rhode Island Ethics Commission. Recent reporting has revealed information about Mr. Da Cruz’s past behavior while serving in public office that makes him unfit to serve as a member of the Ethics Commission.”
