Trump's Stormy Daniels hush money violated campaign finance law
We allege that the payment of $130,000 to Stephanie Clifford (a.k.a. Stormy Daniels), through an LLC, was an unreported in-kind contribution to President Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign committee, in violation of the Federal Election Campaign Act.
In 2018, Common Cause filed complaints with the DOJ and the FEC alleging that a $130,000 payment from Trump’s personal lawyer to Stormy Daniels broke campaign finance law.
