Thursday September 2nd, 2021

• Redistricting Digital Organizing Workshop
  • September 2nd, 2021 | 1:00 PM ET
  • CHARGE training presented by Tim Lim from Lim Consulting Services, along with CHARGE members Fair Count, Mi Familia Vota, and State Voices
  • This training will focus on how to adjust your redistricting engagement programs this fall, particularly focusing on digital and SMS programming. The workshop will also feature best practices, success stories, and top-level recommendations, followed by a Q&A session and group discussion.

  • Join the CHARGE Coalition and the Fair Representation in Redistricting coalition for this communications trainings
  • This will be an opportunity to assess your communications efforts and their relationship to the other elements of your campaign (e.g., field and legal).

  • Common Cause Pennsylvania is hosting office hours for anyone who has already received training on Districtr and community mapping in Pennsylvania to come and ask questions, practice drawing community maps, and connect with other mappers and trainers.

• Redistricting in Hawai’i & the Counties, Why It Matters, & What YOU Can Do!:

• Legal Training about Redistricting Advocacy
  • September 9th, 2021 | 3-4:30 pm ET / 2-3:30 pm  CT / 1 -2:30 pm MT / 12 -1:30 pm PT
  • The training will include an overview of the Rules of the Road for c3/c4 organizations, how to manage various legal scenarios while you advocate for fair and equitable maps and answer questions specific to your campaign.
  • This training was designed for directors, program/campaign leads, and development staff.

• Redistricting Mapping Competition Deadline
  • September 13th, 2021 | 6:00 PM ET
  • The All IN for Democracy coalition launched their redistricting mapping competition with the Indiana Citizens Redistricting Competition!
  • The ICRC is looking for maps that will protect communities of interest and that do not favor one political party over the other.
  • Winners will receive cash prizes and their maps will be used as the standard to judge the maps proposed by the legislature, which is expected to return to Indianapolis to pass new maps in mid-September!

• Indiana Final Public Hearing 
  • August 11th, 2021 | 1:00 PM EST
  • Hoosierfair maps activists turned out en masse last week for hearings held by the House and Senate Elections Committees to take public testimony on redistricting.  Although the hearings were held at inconvenient times and out of the way locations, overflow crowds demanded an end to gerrymandering and that the legislature follow the recommendations of the parallel redistricting commission organized by Common Cause Indiana and the All IN for Democracy coalition.
  • The All IN for Democracy coalition will rally outside the State House before the hearing begins.
