Common Cause advocates for commonsense money in politics limits, including:

Strong and meaningful contribution limits that prevent wealthy special interests from having undue influence on federal, state and local governments.

Rules that shut down individual-candidate super PACs and effectively prevent coordination between candidates and outside groups. When super PACs can raise unlimited funds and then work closely with candidates, the candidate contribution limits are undermined.

Laws that restrict foreign money in U.S. elections. The Citizens United decision unleashed unlimited corporate spending in our elections. But federal law has long prohibited foreign nationals from spending money in U.S. elections. We need new, strong laws making clear that U.S.-based corporations owned by foreign nationals are prohibited from making contributions and expenditures in our elections.
