Special Counsel Robert Mueller spent two years investigating Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and potential obstruction of justice by Former Trump to cover it up.

That investigation led to 37 indictments or guilty pleas before it wrapped up in March 2019.

Common Cause fought for transparency and accountability.

Mueller’s final report was over 400 pages long, and the Justice Department released a redacted version to the public on April 18, 2019. The report contains two volumes: Volume I, which describes Russia’s far-reaching efforts to manipulate the 2016 election, and Mueller’s investigation into potential collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign. Volume 2 describes Former President Trump’s actions regarding that investigation after taking office — including 10 potential episodes of obstruction of justice.

It’s time to put country over party…

We the People deserve the truth about what transpired during the 2016 presidential election — and expect anyone implicated to be held accountable.

Donald Trump and his cronies have tried at every turn to derail Mueller’s investigation and make sure his findings don’t see the light of day. But together, we’ve stood in defense of the rule of law and ensured that Mueller could complete his investigation.

Now, it’s time for the American people to know the whole truth. We’ve already learned about 10 potential instances of Former President Trump obstructing justice that Mueller uncovered. We need a full inquiry to determine exactly what happened, and whether Trump abused the office of the presidency to obstruct Mueller’s investigation — or any of the dozen-plus ongoing federal and state criminal investigations into Trump, his businesses, family, campaign, and associates.

Anything less than a thorough investigation of these charges is an affront to our democracy.

This is much bigger than just Former President Trump. How the American people — and our elected leaders — respond to the shocking information contained in Mueller’s report will determine what kind of democracy we leave for the next generation. And the actions of ordinary people like you and me will make all the difference.

Nobody is above the law…

Our grassroots rapid response network has already sprung into action — and we’re ready to keep speaking out if Mueller’s findings go unaddressed. Together with our partners in the Trump Is Not Above The Law network, we’ve organized protest events in over 1,000 cities on two separate occasions. Our organizers are in connection with our local leaders to ensure we’re ready to act and a moment’s notice

On November 7, 2018, one days after Election Day, President Trump replaced Attorney General Jeff Sessions with a handpicked political operative — to oversee and potentially shut down Mueller’s investigation. The very next day, thousands of Americans from all backgrounds and walks of life stood up to declare, “Nobody is above the law.”

On Tuesday, April 4, 2019, after Attorney General William Barr missed Congress’s deadline to release the full Mueller report — just as news broke that Mueller’s investigators said Barr’s four-page summary of the Mueller report misrepresented their findings. Once again, tens of thousands of concerned Americans took to the streets and demanded that Barr #ReleaseTheReport — unredacted, and with Mueller’s underlying evidence, to members of Congress.

We must keep fighting for truth and accountability

We deserve nothing less than the highest standard of transparency. Our representatives in Congress must:

  • Continue to demand the full, unredacted Mueller report and underlying evidence;
  • Have Special Counsel Mueller testify before Congress about what he found;
  • Compel Attorney General Barr to testify about his handling of the report and hold him in contempt — with fines and other legal consequences — if he refuses.
