Common Cause has been a leading force for ethical government since its founding. After passing landmark ethics reforms in the 1970s that opened up government to the public and shut down blatant corruption, the organization has continued to provide strong leadership in this area ever since.

Here in Oregon, Common Cause won key measures at the state legislature and the ballot that established Oregon’s ethics commission, open meetings law and laws on conflict of interest and lobbying disclosure, and we continue to serve as a watchdog and reformer for ethical government.
