Find Your State

At Common Cause Oregon, we are committed to defending voting rights, making the ballot accessible for all eligible voters, and safeguarding our voting systems to guarantee accurate and fair elections. Every election year, we mobilize volunteers to help our fellow Oregonians navigate the voting process and cast their votes without obstruction, confusion, or intimidation.

Our nonpartisan voter protection program seeks to ensure every eligible voter who wants to vote can do so, and every vote is counted accurately. This program is not affiliated with any party, candidate, or issue campaign.

You can use our voting tools to verify your voter registration, find out if you are eligible to vote, register to vote, get election reminders and more.

Help promote the national nonpartisan voter hotline numbers for voters who may need help, by sharing them widely in your emails and social media, or by posting a sign at your home or workplace.

And this election, if you live in Portland, we’ve got volunteers who can drop off a free window/lawn sign with the national nonpartisan voter hotline number at your doorstep. Common Cause and the NAACP are jointly piloting volunteer sign distribution in Portland this election, with hopes to expand statewide in future elections. Request signs here.

BECOME AN ELECTION PROTECTION VOLUNTEER

No qualified Oregonian should be deprived of their right to vote. Direct volunteer intervention is often the most effective way to make sure voters are not disenfranchised.

Election protection volunteers help get out accurate information, track and dispel misinformation and intentional disinformation, and empower voters to overcome obstacles, while gathering information that informs both immediate and longer term systemic interventions.

Join us in safeguarding our elections by signing up to be a:

  • Social Media Monitor: Search for social media posts that share issues at the polls, connect voters to resources and support, and report election-related mis- and disinformation.
  • 866-OUR VOTE Hotline Monitor: *Must be a law student, attorney, or have a legal background* Respond and field calls from voters concerning election deadlines, trouble at the polls, and other issues and track and record information accordingly.
  • Voter Contact Volunteer: Use phone banking tools to talk to thousands of voters to give them accurate voting information and support.
