HBCU students knock on thousands of doors to help get out the vote this election season

During this fall’s election season, dozens of students from seven historically black colleges and universities have knocked on thousands of doors to give North Carolinians facts on voting.

Organized by Common Cause NC, these HBCU students have spent hours and walked miles on multiple weekends distributing a nonpartisan voter guide and sharing useful voting information with residents in Raleigh, Fayetteville, Greensboro and Winston-Salem.

“It’s been incredible to see such dedication from these young people, as they’ve given their time and energy to help North Carolinians get ready to vote in this year’s pivotal election,” said Bob Phillips, executive director of Common Cause NC. “Thanks to these HBCU students, thousands of North Carolinians will be much better prepared to exercise their right to vote and make their voice heard at the ballot box.”

Common Cause NC partnered with Democracy NC on the nonpartisan voter guide, which has been widely distributed across North Carolina.
