Common Cause to host eight-state Election Day call on voting problems and issues

WASHINGTON, DC – Common Cause will host a telephone press conference featuring eight Common Cause state organizations involved in on-the-ground efforts to protect the vote. These state chapters will report on Election Day problems and issues voters are experiencing. Common Cause is part of the Election Protection Coalition and helping to run a voter help line, 1-866-OUR-VOTE, and poll monitoring operations in a number of states.

What: Common Cause state organizations reporting on voting situations in California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.

During the mid-term elections, Common Cause state chapters are running voter education campaigns in eight states, promoting the voter helpline nationwide and in some cases working to stop confusion and voter intimidation efforts created by anti-fraud groups. In each of the eight states California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania Common Cause is running a combination of voter engagement, voter registration, voter education, and poll monitoring efforts.
