In Massachusetts, Common Cause has led campaigns to bring about a host of democratic reforms including online voter registration, automatic voter registration and election security measures to protect against cyber attacks and domestic hacking, the state chapter’s executive director, Pam Wilmot, told a group of 50 Sunday afternoon.

"We're thrilled. It was a great vote – bipartisan vote," Common Cause of Massachusetts Executive Director Pam Wilmot said. "This bill will make elections more accurate, more secure and more participatory. It involves more people in politics and being able to hold their government accountable, and that's a win for everyone."

“Automatic voter registration is the next step in voting rights,” said Pam Wilmot, executive director of Common Cause Massachusetts. “It will increase voter participation while at the same time making the process is more accurate and secure. That’s a win-win-win for everyone, regardless of your political background.”

"Worried that an issue that has majority support in both legislative chambers could be left on the cutting-room floor when formal sessions end, a coalition of 42 organizations has asked House Speaker Robert DeLeo to move an automatic voter registration bill to the floor."

"Former Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson is in Massachusetts this week, lobbying the state's Republicans to back an automatic voter registration bill."

"Ten states have passed automatic voter registration laws, including Oregon. After implementing the system, Oregon to added over 230,000 new voters to the rolls within six months and had more than 97,000 new voters participate in the 2016 election. Massachusetts advocates hope to implement the system here and give more people a voice in government."
