Common Cause Delaware strongly supports HB 96, a bill that would allow 16 and 17-year-old students to vote in school board elections.

"We at Common Cause are very interested in having as many people as possible participate in our elections, our government, to run for office, and be part of the process," said Cheri Quickmire, executive director of Common Cause Connecticut.

Our democracy is strongest when voters can easily make our voices heard at the ballot box. Today’s ruling to restrict our rights is a devastating setback for the freedom to vote in Delaware. Those pushing for this decision are just trying to cause confusion and chaos to suppress our votes.

"We support Vote by Mail because it allows our neighbors to cast their ballots safely and securely from home."

All Delawareans will be able to vote by mail in upcoming elections. First Staters will also now be able to register to vote, or update their name or address, when they go to vote.

Common Cause Delaware is announcing the launch of an independent, nonpartisan effort to ensure that every eligible voter can vote safely and smoothly in the First State.
