Role: California Community and Engagement Intern
Location: Remote within California
Start Date: June 17-August 30
Reports to: Operations & Development Manager
Details: This is a part-time internship (20 hours/week), starting June 17 and ending August 30
Essential functions: California Common Cause is seeking an intern to assist with and learn about our communications work. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a commitment to a fair and transparent democracy, and who is interested in learning more about government affairs and the legislative process.
Skills you will build and work you will be involved in
The intern will:
- Help California Common Cause continue its efforts to promote an open, accessible democracy.
- Conduct research and data management to support our major donor program.
- Support in organizing opportunities for CA Common Cause members and student-programs.
Qualifications
You will be a good fit for this internship if you have:
- A passion for learning about elections, government affairs, and the legislative process
- A desire and an ability to work in a non-partisan manner
- A willingness to build your organizational skills and attention to detail
- A willingness to build your writing and listening skills
- A willingness to learn new skills
Compensation: $17/hour for 20 hours per week for the duration of the internship
Classification: This position is classified as temporary and therefore not included in the union-represented collective bargaining unit.
