Governor Abbott Blames Local Elections Officials for His Disastrous Policy

“Blaming our dedicated election officials for doing their job and implementing his disastrous anti-voter bill is a new low for this Governor. The mess that we’re seeing today is what happens when you appoint someone to run our elections who is hellbent on overturning the will of the people in the 2020 election.

Local election officials are doing their best but these news laws were poorly written and the Secretary of State has provided little to no timely guidance. It really highlights the absurdity of the situation to have our governor suggest local officials call the Secretary of State when it’s been widely reported that their calls have been widely going unanswered.

The Governor should spend less time pointing fingers and more time working to ensure every eligible Texan can exercise our freedom to vote.”
