As a volunteer poll monitor, you’ll help us ensure no one is deprived of their right to make their voice heard in this vital election.
We’ve run a grassroots election protection program in Texas for years — in 2020 the work looks radically different but is perhaps more important than ever.
For this election, we’re training volunteers to not only assist with all the common problems we’ve historically seen at the polls, but also to watch for problems related to lack of social-distancing and people refusing to wear masks.
And of course the safety of our volunteers is paramount. We’re recruiting three types of poll monitors for this election:
- Poll monitors who are assigned to a poll where they will assist people while maintaining social distancing protocols
- Roving monitors who are assigned a set of polls to patrol from their cars
- Virtual monitors who assist in monitoring various online sites
All in-person and roving monitors will be provided facemasks and sanitizer, in addition to t-shirts and signs. And all volunteers must agree to remain nonpartisan, and attend a virtual training session.
