A group of five statewide organizations on Tuesday emailed the Northampton County Elections Board expressing concerns about the voting issue.

“This is an unfortunate situation caused by human error; yet, it is generating a lot of consternation among voters,” said the letter, which was signed by representatives of the American Civil Liberties Union, Common Cause PA, Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, Pennsylvania Voice and All Voting is Local.

The letter urged the board to increase communication efforts to reassure voters. It also said the organizations would offer recommendations on ways to detect such human errors and correct them before election days.
