"We're number one in basketball and number one in extreme gerrymandering," said Bob Phillips, the director of Common Cause NC.

“We still need to push for greater public input on both the front end and the back end of the redistricting process and certainly a little bit more context of what is happening as these maps are being drawn,” Phillips said.

"The people of North Carolina should not be shortchanged by a rushed redistricting process that undercuts the right of voters to choose their representatives."
