St. Aug’s students march to the polls on Election Day

Students from Saint Augustine’s University marched to a polling place in Raleigh to make their voices heard at the ballot box on Tuesday.

Led by the school’s marching band, the students walked the several blocks to the voting location. Among the marchers was Dr. Everett B. Ward, the university’s president.

“These students recognize that voting is just one component to the political process,” Ward said. “But it’s what happens starting tomorrow morning, the whole engagement in the political process, the governance of society – and that’s what they’re committed to.”
