2020: A record year of voter engagement in North Carolina

This year has brought our state and nation extraordinary challenges. We’ve faced a global pandemic that has affected countless lives. Our country has reignited a crucial, and long-overdue, reckoning for racial injustice. Meanwhile, we held a historic election with record-high turnout that saw millions of Americans make their voices heard at the ballot box.

Our democracy has been put to the test in 2020. Yet we’ve taken steps forward and shown what can be accomplished when everyday people unite with a common purpose.

There’s still much more we must do in the year ahead to protect voting rights, end gerrymandering and hold power accountable. Thanks to the support of our Common Cause NC members, friends and supporters, we’ll continue this important work in 2021 and beyond, as together we build a democracy for all.
