Far too often, Americans feel like they don’t have a voice in our democracy with the lack of transparency in our legislatures. Common Cause New York believes that we deserve a government that pays as much attention to doing what’s right, and avoiding what’s wrong, as parents all over American do everyday.
While some counties provide clear and transparent information on their ethics oversight, most counties provide little information to the public. Common Cause New York advocates for uniform county ethics oversight across New York State, which would provide clear and effective monitoring of conflicts of interests.
