Common Cause Minnesota Celebrates Signing of Restore the Vote Bill

PAUL, MN — Last Friday, Common Cause Minnesota stood alongside Governor Tim Walz as he signed a bill that will restore voting rights for Minnesotans with felony convictions who are not currently incarcerated. The signing comes after the Minnesota Legislature passed SF26 and the companion bill HF28.

Common Cause Minnesota Praises MN Senate After Passage of Voting Reformation Bill

PAUL, MN — Late last night, the Minnesota Senate passed SF26, a bill that will restore voting rights for Minnesotans with felony convictions who are not currently incarcerated. The bill is a huge step forward for voting rights in Minnesota and is the culmination of years of advocacy by Common Cause Minnesota and the Restore the Vote Coalition.

2022 Midterm Election is TOMORROW

ST. PAUL, MN — Minnesota voters have until Tuesday, Nov. 8 to make their voices heard in the 2022 midterm election. Voters can cast a ballot in-person on Election Day or by dropping their vote-by-mail ballot off at a county elections office or a ballot drop box.

Minnesotans Can Call 866-OUR-VOTE Hotline for Any Issues Exercising the Right to Vote

ST. PAUL, MN — Common Cause Minnesota reminds Minnesotans to use the nonpartisan Election Protection hotline, 866-OUR-VOTE, if they have any questions or encounter any challenges with casting a ballot on or before Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8. Voters can call or text the hotline to connect with volunteers standing by to help.

Minnesotans Approach Upcoming Deadlines for Voter Registration

ST. PAUL, MN — New voters and voters who need to make updates have until Tuesday, Oct. 18, to submit their online application to register to vote in the Nov. 8 midterm election. Mail-in registrations must be received by 5 p.m. the same day in order to be accepted.

Common Cause Releases 2022 “Democracy Scorecard” Showing Growing Support in Congress for Democracy Reform

ST. PAUL, MN — As constituents evaluate the performance of their members of Congress, Common Cause released its 2022 “Democracy Scorecard,” a tracking resource with the positions of all members of Congress on campaign finance reform, ethics and transparency, and voting rights legislation. The fourth biennial scorecard is produced to help constituents hold their leaders in the 117th Congress accountable for passing common-sense legislation that preserves and strengthens our democracy.
