ANDERSON, IN — On Thursday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. EST, Common Cause Indiana, The League of Women Voters of Indiana, Indiana Local Redistricting and the Anderson branch of the NAACP will convene with members of the Anderson community to discuss redistricting and address questions about the lawsuit filed against the Anderson Common Council for the failure to redistrict during the 2020 redistricting cycle.
The event will feature good government experts and local leaders who are a part of a recent suit against the Anderson Common Council following the council’s inaction in drawing new, fair maps before the Dec. 31, 2022 redistricting deadline. The meeting comes days after Indiana received a “D” for its redistricting process. Citizens of Anderson will learn about the redistricting process, how it affects their voting power and the need to pass meaningful redistricting reform at both the state and local level. Questions will be welcomed.
