Weds. Mar. 10th, 2021 1:00PM – Legislative Hearing on Making the 2020 Absentee Ballot Drop Boxes Permanent, Automatic Voter Registration, Restoration of Voting Rights to Individuals on Parole

CT Secretary of the State 2021 Constitutional Amendment Fact Sheet

The legislature passed a constitutional amendment that would allow Early Voting in 2019; it needs to pass again in order to be on the 2022 ballot for the voters to decide. The amendment that would expand access to absentee ballots for all voters without an excuse will be voted on for the first time this year. It would need to pass both chambers with a 75% supermajority in order to go on the 2022 ballot.

Please submit written testimony to gaetestimony@cga.ct.gov and/or zoom in to speak at the virtual public hearing in the legislative Government Administration and Elections (GAE) Committee. Public testimony will be heard on Early Voting (HJ 59) and No Excuse Absentee Voting (HJ 58.)
