Protecting the integrity of our elections
Protecting our democracy from foreign or domestic attacks is not a partisan issue. In order for our government to function with legitimacy, Americans must trust in the accuracy of our elections.
Colorado is the first state in the country to institute risk-limiting audits for every election. This process assures voters that their votes have been accurately counted and tabulated and that their will is reflected in the election results. We have also implemented a uniform voting system which allows for statewide uniformity in cybersecurity measures.
Because of the use of mail ballots, and the fact that the uniform voting system requires a paper ballot be generated even with in-person voting, there is a paper trail for virtually all ballots in Colorado. This helps to ensure election integrity. There are ongoing efforts to modernize our voter registration process, which will further guarantee the accuracy of our voter rolls.
