JCSU students go to the polls in Charlotte

Our outstanding Common Cause Democracy Fellows at Johnson C. Smith University organized an early voting block party and march to the polls event in Charlotte on Thursday’s start of early voting, helping students and community members make their voices heard at the ballot box.

We’re working at all 10 Historically Black Colleges and Universities in North Carolina to help the state’s 40,000 HBCU students fully participate in this year’s election.

As part of our nonpartisan voter engagement efforts, we’re distributing more than 1 million copies of our voter guides to North Carolinians across the state. And our online 2022 NC Voter Guide provides North Carolinians with an interactive look at that candidates on their personalized ballot, along with important information on casting a vote.

Early voting for North Carolina’s 2022 election runs Oct. 20 – Nov. 5. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8.

We encourage all North Carolina voters to get informed, get engaged and go vote this election!
