The comprehensive report evaluates public access, outreach, and education in each state based on an analysis of more than 120 detailed surveys and more than 60 interviews. 

Lincoln, NE — Last year, Nebraska lobbyists broke records, earning a whopping $21,839,249 in compensation from special interests to influence legislation, according to a new report released today by Common Cause Nebraska. 

In 2022, Nebraska voters passed a ballot measure that placed voter ID requirements in the state constitution. The amendment gave the unicameral authority to specify the rules for providing ID to vote. As a result, the legislature passed LB514 during the 2023 legislative session, which specifies how Nebraskans present ID before voting. Here are a few answers to questions you may have.

LINCOLN, NE — Today, in a 38-1 vote, the Nebraska unicameral passed LB514, legislation that details acceptable forms of ID voters must present in order to vote.

Common Cause Nebraska supports efforts in the Nebraska legislature to restrain the influence of big donors. LB737 would place commonsense caps on how much an individual donor can contribute to each campaign.

That same day, CCNE Executive Director Gavin Geis will also testify supporting LB737, which seeks to place a $1000 limit on how much anyone can contribute to candidates for office.
