2016 Primary Election Wrap-Up

2016 Primary Election Wrap-Up

Our Just Vote! hotline and website assisted hundreds of voters during the 2016 Colorado primary election.

June was a busy month for Colorado Common Cause. In addition to wrapping up the Colorado legislative session and hosting our Champions for Democracy luncheon, we assisted voters during the Colorado primary election through our Just Vote! Colorado Election Protection (Just Vote!) program.

Colorado Common Cause staff assisted voters through the Just Vote! hotline from June 6th through Election Day on June 28th. The majority of voters inquired about obtaining a replacement ballot, updating their voting record, or finding their closest in-person voting location. Very few callers contacted Just Vote! to report problems. The overwhelming majority of questions came from voters in the Denver metro area, followed by Colorado Springs and Boulder.

The Just Vote! website provides a plethora of voter resources, including the identification requirements for voting, a list of voting rights, and answers to frequently asked questions. The website’s map feature allows Coloradans to find their closest Voter Service and Polling Centers and/or ballot drop-off sites.

Now that the primary election is over, we are gearing up for the general election on November 8th. Mail ballots will be delivered beginning on October 17th, and early in-person voting at VSPCs will begin on October 24th. Visit JustVoteColorado.org for more information about other election-related deadlines and important voter resources.
