This civic education event, organized by Common Cause Rhode Island, is free and open to the public. Secretary of State Gregg Amore will join members of the Rhode Island Voting Access Coalition to discuss the history of the voting rights movement, including the passage of the federal Voting Rights Act of 1965, and its impact on Rhode Island voters. Current threats to voting rights will also be considered, as well as legislative solutions like the Rhode Island Voting Rights Act.

Following the forum, attendees will have opportunities to engage with activists about the campaign and learn how they can support voting rights in the Ocean State.
