In Oregon, recent success includes passing model state legislation that:
- Secures Oregon’s Electoral Count from fake elector attempts (2024)
- Exposes misleading AI-distorted campaign ads (2024)
- Blocks radical extremist attempts to rewrite of the U.S. Constitution using outdated Oregon legislation (2023)
- Protects election worker safety with increased consequences for threats and violence (2022)
- Curbs election disinformation, prohibiting knowingly spreading false election information (2021)
- Shores up Oregon Elections funding (each budget)
We’ve also brought our national, nonpartisan Election Protection operation (with its multi-lingual hotline and legal support) here to support Oregon voters. Each election year, we monitor and respond to election sabotage, disinformation, and political violence, and partner with election officials to get out accurate election information.
There’s more work ahead. Join us in 2025 to defend and advance democracy in the face of an emboldened autocratic and authoritarian movement.
