Ohio March Updates

Join us for an Ohio Supreme Court Candidate Forum on Monday, March 4 at 7:30pm. This forum focuses on the two candidates in the only contested primary race, Eighth District Court of Appeals Judge Lisa Forbes and Tenth District Court of Appeals Judge Terri Jamison. The judges will discuss the judicial system, the role of the Ohio Supreme Court, and why each believes that they are best qualified to join the state’s highest court.

Election Protection Updates – Can you help at the polls?

Please join the Election Protection team at Early Vote or on Election Day! Our work is easy and fun – we promote the 866-OUR-VOTE hotline, report any problems, and help answer voter questions. You can get involved by selecting a training on March 6, 9 or 14 so you’re ready to pitch in and make the primary run smoothly.

Yes, I’ll sign up for Election Protection training!

Fair District Updates – Marching Forward

We are so grateful that more than 2,000 volunteers have already stepped up to become trained Citizens Not Politicians petition circulators. And special thanks to those who have supported our volunteer efforts by donating to provide volunteers with t-shirts in the field.

New this week the Citizens Not Politicians campaign launched a new resource that enables Ohio voters to find places and events where they can sign the petition. Be sure to check it out if you haven’t signed the petition already!

Please join us for the next Fair Districts All Volunteer Huddle on March 13 at 6 pm!

Legislative Updates

The Ohio Senate is poised to pass legislation that bans foreign funding of ballot campaigns. Senate Bill 215 is sponsored by State Senators Theresa Gaverone and Rob McColley. Unfortunately, the bill fails to create the transparency necessary to root out bad actors or identify foreign actors.

The state legislature continues to ignore the impact of dark money on Ohio elections and this bill does nothing to enable Ohioans to “follow the money.” Corruption flourishes in secrecy. Despite former Speaker of the Ohio House Larry Householder’s conviction and the recent arrests of former public utilities regulator Sam Randazzo and two FirstEnergy executives, legislative leaders have failed to take action.

Donate to the Fair Districts efforts to get our volunteers “End Gerrymandering” t-shirts and beanies in the field.
