Chapel Hill Town Council Member Allen Buansi joins board of Common Cause NC

Chapel Hill Town Council Member Allen Buansi has joined the state advisory board for Common Cause NC, a nonpartisan, good-government organization working to strengthen democracy.

“We are very pleased to welcome Allen to our state advisory board,” said Bob Phillips, executive director of Common Cause NC. “He brings a perspective and expertise that is invaluable to our work of building a democracy for all in North Carolina.”

Buansi is serving his first term on the Chapel Hill Town Council and is an attorney-fellow at the UNC Center for Civil Rights. Previously, he worked at the NC Department of Justice as an attorney and policy counsel. Buansi received his J.D. from the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law and his bachelor’s degree in history from Dartmouth College.

“I look forward to working with Common Cause NC as we strive to defend voting rights, end gerrymandering and empower the next generation of leaders for North Carolina,” Buansi said.
