Common Cause New Mexico

Molly is a community engagement & legislative advocacy strategist whose career has focused on ensuring that everyone has the tools they need to be civically engaged. Molly understands that every individual is an expert in their own lived experiences, in turn making everyone’s voices critical when and where decisions are being made that will impact our communities. She is passionate about breaking down barriers to engagement and uplifting the voices of those who are often unheard and underrepresented.

Molly has worked in community advocacy and public policy for over 17 years, spending most of her time in the Planned Parenthood family fighting for access to comprehensive health care, including abortion. She managed multi-state organizing programs in Wisconsin, Colorado, Nevada, Wyoming, and New Mexico. She led organizing efforts to defeat a personhood amendment in Mississippi (2011) and against a constitutional amendment to ban abortion later in pregnancy in Colorado (2020). Her work for change has been centered on layering efforts – communications, legislative advocacy, community education, media – and in coalition with government and community organizations. Communities are strongest when we stand together.

Molly holds a Masters of Social Work from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and a dual Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Women’s Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
