Congressional & Legislative Redistricting

The Maryland General Assembly has redrawn the boundaries of our congressional and legislative voting districts. Common Cause Maryland watchdogged the process - ensuring the process was transparent and allowed for meaningful participation - and advocated for fair and representative maps. Interactive versions of the maps that were adopted as well as any of the relevant materials are included for your review. While technology helped increase transparency around the process, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done in order to ensure that we have fair maps that fully represent Maryland’s diverse population. Young Adults: 5 things you can do today to impact the next 10 years of your life

Young adults have a lot of political power at stake when it comes to fair representation. At the end of the day if your maps don’t represent you, then your representatives won’t represent you. So much of our lives are dependent on the district maps, from the resources for better schools, affordable healthcare and safe neighborhoods. Together, we can secure fair district maps that give us a government in which everyone participates, every vote is counted, and every voice is heard.

2021-2022 Local Redistricting

Common Cause Maryland has been monitoring the redistricting process at the local and state level. We have compiled maps that have been adopted in jurisdictions throughout the state as well as any of the relevant documents for your review. Please note that not all jurisdictions have redrawn their voting districts. While technology has helped increase transparency around the process this cycle, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done in order to ensure that we have fair maps that fully represent Maryland’s diverse population.
