CA Position Letter Portal Tutorial
This page will show you how to submit a letter of support/opposition for bills using the California Position Letter Portal.
Step 1 — Log in or Create an Account
Visit https://calegislation.lc.ca.gov/advocates and click “create an account”
Step 2 — Identify your Status
Mark no for the following questions:
- Are you registered lobbyist?
- Do you represent an organization, registered or otherwise?
Click “Proceed” and then insert your information. Only your name and email are required.
Step 3 — Add your Details
Sign into your new account at https://calegislation.lc.ca.gov/Advocates using the temporary password that was emailed to you.
Step 4 — Submit your Letter
Once signed in:
- Type in the bill number and press search
- Select Support or Oppose
- Select “Submit a Letter Instead” and upload your completed letter using our template
Step 5 — You’re done!
