As absentee mail voting and in-person absentee voting begins the April general election, Common Cause is reminding voters to seek help using 866-OUR-VOTE. The nonpartisan hotline is for individual voters to ask questions and get more information about their voting options.

In person absentee voting begins Tuesday, March 24, 2026. Voters should check with their municipal clerks on locations, dates, and times they can cast an early ballot. They can reach their clerks through myvote.wi.gov.

Common Cause is part of the largest nonpartisan election protection program in the nation, which runs the 866-OUR-VOTE hotline and protectthevote.net website. If you have issues registering to vote or voting early, the following hotlines are active for voters to call or text in the following languages:

ENGLISH: 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683)

SPANISH/ENGLISH: 888-VE-Y-VOTA (888-839-8682)

ASIAN LANGUAGES/ENGLISH: 888-API-VOTE (888-274-8683)

ARABIC/ENGLISH: 844-YALLA-US (844-925-5287)

“The nonpartisan hotline could be the difference between your vote counting and being turned away from the polls,” said Bianca Shaw, Common Cause Wisconsin’s State Director. “Our hotline offers trusted, expert guidance for voters of all backgrounds and political affiliations if you run into any voting problems. Make sure your vote is counted this election.”
