1. Everyone Needs A Plan To Vote<\/span><\/h3>\r\n\u00a0The single most important thing you can do if you haven\u2019t yet is to make your plan to vote\u2014then ensure every eligible voter you know is doing the same. <\/span>Use our free online voter tools to check your polling place, track your ballot, and more >><\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nEven if you follow politics closely, you don\u2019t want to find out on Election Day that there\u2019s a problem with your registration, or that your polling place isn\u2019t where it was last year\u2014so double check now to be safe, not sorry!\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nThen, if you already know when and where you\u2019re going to vote (or if you already voted early or by absentee ballot) you can make sure others do as well by sharing this post on social media, or reposting Common Cause on <\/span>Facebook<\/span><\/a>, Instagram, <\/span>Twitter<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Linkedin<\/span><\/a>, and TikTok. <\/span>\r\n

2. Election Night Is Not Results Night<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\r\nDon\u2019t expect to know who won the presidential election on Tuesday night. As in 2020, it will take days for many states to count every vote accurately. <\/span>That\u2019s why a delay in the results is a sign of a healthy democracy!\u00a0 <\/b>\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nElection workers need time to count every single vote\u2014including in-person, mail, absentee, overseas, and military ballots.
