The SAVE Act

We need your help to save millions of voters from the GOP’s so-called “SAVE” Act

This new anti-voter bill, pushed by far-right special interests like ALEC would:

  • Make voting harder for married women who have changed their last name.
  • Deter newly naturalized citizens from voting and make it harder for ALL eligible voters to cast a ballot.
  • Do absolutely nothing to make our elections more secure.

Let’s be clear – election deniers in Congress are pushing a solution in search of a problem.

It’s already 100% illegal for people who aren’t citizens to vote in federal elections – period. But adding these new hurdles and red tape will make it much harder, if not outright impossible, for millions of voters — Republicans, Democrats, and Independents alike — to register and cast their ballots.

The “SAVE” Act would place the burden on every single American citizen to prove their citizenship when registering to vote or updating their voter information, forcing them to present a passport or a birth certificate in person.

If you think this bill won’t affect your rights, think again. Here’s who’ll lose out if the SAVE Act becomes law:

  • The approximate 146 million Americans that don’t have a passport.
  • The 69 million women in the U.S. that do not have a birth certificate that matches their current legal name.

This alarming legislation is a direct assault on our voting rights, targeting seniors, women, students, veterans, and rural voters the most.

But that hasn’t stopped Speaker Mike Johnson and extremist lawmakers, who threatened to shut down our government last year in a desperate attempt to force this legislation through.

That’s all the proof you need that these politicians don’t Thực ra care about the integrity of our elections – but instead are doing this to get media attention, demonize immigrant communities, and flatter President Trump and his election lies.

In fact, Johnson dared to say that “the only people who will face hurdles here are those who are trying to break our federal laws,” but we know this isn’t the truth. The reality is, every American would face new barriers to the ballot box if the “SAVE” Act passes.

We successfully stopped this dangerous legislation last year – but with a newly emboldened administration with majorities in Congress, it’s going to take all our collective effort to stop it again.

Tell the Senate: REJECT the anti-voter SAVE Act

Every eligible American deserves the freedom to vote without jumping through impossible hoops.

But the SAVE Act would scare newly naturalized citizens out of voting and make it harder for millions of eligible voters to cast a ballot – especially seniors, women, students, veterans, and rural voters.

The Senate must REJECT the anti-voter SAVE Act and protect our right to vote.

House Passes Modern Day Poll Tax in SAVE Act

Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the SAVE Act (HR 22), legislation that will make it significantly harder and more expensive for tens of millions of American to vote in elections. Under the proposed legislation, every American would have to provide in-person proof of citizenship to register to vote and update their voter registration.
