We and our co-plaintiffs challenged this transparent effort to deprive cities and communities with large immigrant populations of equal representation in Congress and to threaten their ability to access federal resources\u00a0that\u00a0rely\u00a0on census data.\u00a0Basahin ang reklamo dito.<\/a>\r\n\r\nThe plain language of the law makes it clear that the Trump Administration\u2019s order is illegal.\u00a0The 14th Amendment requires that the \u201cwhole number of persons in each state\u201d be used to determine the allocation of seats in the House of Representatives, and federal law requires that the Secretary of Commerce send to the President the \u201ctabulation of total population by states\u201d and for the President to then send to Congress a statement showing the \u201cwhole number of persons\u201d in each state.\r\n\r\nOral arguments in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia\u00a0naganap noong Setyembre 29, 2020<\/a>.
