The VRA was a direct response to the widespread disenfranchisement of Black voters \u2014 it was a law that changed lives, allowing everyday Americans to exercise their right to vote without fear or discrimination.\r\n\r\nSixty years in, the battle for voting rights rages on. As we mark this significant milestone, we recognize that communities of color still face substantial barriers to fully engaging in the democratic process. The promise of the VRA remains unfulfilled for too many Americans, and it is not enough on its own to secure our voting rights.\r\n\r\nThis moment serves as a reminder that we must not become complacent.
