It\u2019s kind of like digital trading cards \u2013 fun for some, but risky and not tied to any real value.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nBut the people invited to Trump\u2019s event weren\u2019t just throwing a couple of dollars towards a $TRUMP coin as a joke. Only the top 220 investors were invited, and on average, <\/span>each attendee <\/b>had spent $1.8 million on Trump\u2019s meme coin.<\/b><\/a>\r\n\r\nSo why would someone throw millions at a joke of an internet coin?<\/span>\r\n\r\nBecause Trump made it clear: buy in, and you\u2019ll get access. He\u2019s <\/span>appointed crypto allies<\/b><\/a> to lead watchdog agencies like the SEC, and his administration has vocally made a complete departure from Biden\u2019s attempts to regulate this emerging financial sector, <\/span>telling industry leaders<\/span><\/a> that he would end the last administration\u2019s \u201cwar on crypto.\u201d<\/span>\r\n\r\nWithout strong rules, the crypto world becomes a playground for scammers and billionaires. <\/span>People who don\u2019t have millions to throw around are more likely to lose their savings<\/b> in risky coins or shady projects. Trump\u2019s Crypto Money Grab is a Family Business<\/span><\/h3>\r\nThe Trump family\u2019s businesses are <\/span>diving head-first into crypto.\u00a0<\/b>\r\n\r\nHis sons Eric and Donald Jr. <\/span>announced last fall<\/span><\/a> that they were starting World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency company. Then, an Abu Dhabi investment fund backed by the UAE government announced it would be making a $2 billion investment in the cryptocurrency trading company Binance using a digital currency developed by World Liberty Financial.
