More than a year into her job as Department of Homeland Security Secretary, the negative headlines on Kristi Noem’s job performance continue week after week.

Kaya, we thought it was time for a performance review—one that goes beyond the headlines of the day but examines her first year in her role. 

And if you need a refresher, here are the 5 most corrupt and alarming things you need to know about Kristi Noem (Not a good start, Kristi). 

Metric 1: How is she spending taxpayer’s money? Result: Unsatisfactory 

Noem is absolutely abusing taxpayer money, spending millions on luxury jets that have even the grifters in the White House upset. While Noem claims she needs the resources for DHS with deportations, media reports say it’s mostly Noem and special advisory Corey  Lewandowski using the jets. 

DHS is using charter plane companies to such an excess  ang NCAA had to come out and publicly warn teams selected to the upcoming NCAA basketball tournaments may have travel issues due to a lack of charter flights.  

Metric 2: Hiring decisions. Result: Failing expectations.  

Noem is directly responsible for two of the worst employees at DHS, Greg Bovino as ICE commander and Corey Lewandowski as special advisor.  

Bovino was ICE commander for months while the agency harassed and assaulted Americans, including children, in places from Los Angeles to Maine. Under Bovino’s command, several people were shot during ICE raids, and dozens of people have died. You can learn more about why Bovino was a bad pick here.

As for Lewandowski, apparently the White House vetoed his hiring as chief of staff to Noem. Instead, Noem allows him to bend, and likely break, the rules around being a special advisor. Two high profile hires, two massive mistakes.  

Metric 3: Overall decision-making. Result: Failing expectations.  

Noem reportedly decided to take TSA Pre-Check off-line for a few hours recently in retaliation for Congress stalling approval for her DHS budget. She didn’t even let her  manager, President Trump, know about it. 

And it was Noem who led the charge for partisan videos in airports — and was the literal face of the campaign. We already said that idea wasn’t going to fly.  

Finally, a recent whistleblower report shows Noem’s decision to end some security requirements at TSA checkpoints is risking American security. A clear and consistent pattern of poor decision– making is clear. 

Final Result: Kristi Noem is failing as DHS Secretary. She should be removed from further service. It’s time we Fire Krisi Noem.
