How President Trump is Making Spring Break More Expensive

Hey spring breakers, have plans to travel? It’s about to cost more than you think. Here is how the Trump Administration’s policies might ruin your travel plans.

Hey spring breakers, have plans to travel? It’s about to cost more than you think.

Due to President Trump’s illegal war in Iran, oil prices are going up every day. This is going to affect many aspects of travel, likely making your spring break more expensive.

Here is how the Trump Administration’s policies might ruin your travel plans.

Road Trips

If you were planning on a road trip, filling up your gas tank is going to get more expensive by the day.

Gas is averaging $3.72 a gallon, an 80-cent increase from a month ago, and showing no sign of going down.

Flights

If you plan on traveling by plane, experts say that airline ticket prices could increase by 5% and 7% due to rising fuel prices.

Higher costs are already being seen with airlines like Cathay Pacific Airways, which has announced its plans to raise its fuel surcharge on all tickets from $72.90 to $149.20 later this week.

Cruises

If you plan to travel by sea, be mindful of rising fuel costs. An example is Carnival Cruise, which could see a $400 to 600 million drop in annual income because of a $20 increase in crude oil prices.

For reference, every $10 increase in oil prices could add $200 to 300 million in fuel costs for the cruise line, that is if these costs aren’t passed to consumers through higher ticket prices.

Food

The cost of food is going to go up because food that is bought and sold must travel from where they’re produced to a destination like a grocery store or restaurant. The travel will be impacted by these rising oil costs because of the fuel needed for transportation trucks.

As a result, food is already expected to go up 2.18%.

The impact of this war has been felt at the gas pump for the last month, and it is only going to get worse the longer President Trump’s war goes on. This isn’t just a matter of inconvenience, it’s a serious financial burden that could impact how people choose to travel or if they can afford to.
