A growing bipartisan coalition in Congress is supporting the Restore Trust in Congress Act, a commonsense bill that would ban members of Congress from trading individual stocks while in office, and create serious penalties for doing so.

Public pressure is the only reason this reform is moving – but the window to act is small. The legislators who profit from this status quo are already trying to slow things down behind the scenes.
