La premi\u00e8re consiste en un vote \u00e0 la majorit\u00e9 des deux tiers des membres de la Chambre des repr\u00e9sentants et du S\u00e9nat. La seconde est la convocation d&#039;une nouvelle convention constitutionnelle, que le Congr\u00e8s est tenu d&#039;organiser si les deux tiers des l\u00e9gislatures d&#039;\u00c9tat (34 \u00c9tats) en font la demande.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ces derniers temps, de riches donateurs, des entreprises et des acteurs d&#039;extr\u00eame droite radicaux ont multipli\u00e9 les appels \u00e0 la convocation d&#039;une Convention constitutionnelle au titre de l&#039;article V \u00e0 travers le pays. Ils souhaitent remodeler notre Constitution \u00e0 leur avantage. La Constitution ne le fait pas. <\/span><b>pas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Elle contient les r\u00e8gles relatives \u00e0 une Convention au titre de l&#039;article V. Les extr\u00e9mistes et les groupes d&#039;int\u00e9r\u00eats particuliers fortun\u00e9s y voient leur meilleure chance d&#039;inscrire leur programme d&#039;extr\u00eame droite dans la Constitution.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Une convention au titre de l&#039;article V pourrait abroger <\/span><b>n&#039;importe lequel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> de nos amendements les plus pr\u00e9cieux, notamment le Premier amendement garantissant la libert\u00e9 d&#039;expression et la libert\u00e9 de la presse, le Dix-neuvi\u00e8me amendement assurant le droit de vote des femmes, le Sixi\u00e8me amendement garantissant le droit \u00e0 un proc\u00e8s public et rapide devant jury, le Vingt-quatri\u00e8me amendement abolissant les taxes \u00e9lectorales, ou le Vingt-deuxi\u00e8me amendement limitant \u00e0 deux le nombre de mandats pr\u00e9sidentiels. Il pourrait \u00e9galement ajouter des amendements visant \u00e0 supprimer les droits reproductifs, \u00e0 abolir l&#039;\u00e9galit\u00e9 du mariage ou \u00e0 autoriser les expulsions sans proc\u00e9dure r\u00e9guli\u00e8re.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Notre Constitution n&#039;est pas parfaite, mais nous ne la corrigerons pas par la Convention de l&#039;article V. Les \u00e9lecteurs du comt\u00e9 peuvent voter pr\u00e8s de leur domicile, de leur lieu de travail, de l&#039;\u00e9cole de leurs enfants ou du cabinet de leur m\u00e9decin.
