Volunteer

Every day is a great day to advocate for a democracy that works for everyone. At Common Cause Pennsylvania, we have a range of opportunities  to get engaged and further this work across the Commonwealth:

1.)  Common Cause Pennsylvania Action Team

This is our primary volunteer advocacy program. Team members will work directly with Common Cause Pennsylvania staff to advance our campaigns at the grassroots level. As an Action Team member, we will train and support you to:

  • Meet with your legislators about policy issues
  • Attend or help organize rallies, townhalls, or webinars
  • Assist with research and public testimony
  • Write letters to the editor or deliver petitions

Our volunteering opportunities are flexible, and we’ll work with you to find the right opportunities that make sense for you. Interested? Sign up below!

2.)  Watchdogs for Democracy: County Election Monitoring

Here in Pennsylvania, decisions that determine  how easy or hard it is to vote  are made at the county level. We are actively recruiting  volunteers to be watchdogs for democracy at the local level. As a member of our Watchdog program, you will engage with elected administrators in your own community by:

  • Attending or watching board of elections meetings and filling out reports
  • Delivering public comment at Board of Elections meetings
  • Reaching out to county officials and staff about election-related matters
  • Monitoring county processes and election-related challenges

If you can help us cover these meetings in any of Pennsylvania’s sixty-seven counties, sign up below!

3.)   Election Protection: 2026 Cycle

The national, nonpartisan Election Protection coalition works year-round to ensure that all voters have an equal opportunity to vote and have that vote count. If you agree that every eligible voter deserves to have their voice count, you can take action from home or in person by serving as a nonpartisan Election Protection volunteer:

  • Monitor polling locations and assist voters on Election Day
  • Spread the 866-OUR-VOTE Election Protection Hotline as a voter assistance resource
