Unfortunately, the bill fails to create the transparency necessary to root out bad actors or identify foreign actors.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The state legislature continues to ignore the impact of dark money on Ohio elections and this bill does nothing to enable Ohioans to \u201cfollow the money.\u201d Corruption flourishes in secrecy. Despite former Speaker of the Ohio House Larry Householder\u2019s conviction and the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ohiocapitaljournal.com\/2024\/02\/12\/ex-first-energy-executives-ohio-utility-regulator-charged-by-state-in-bailout-and-bribery-scandal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">recent arrests <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of former public utilities regulator Sam Randazzo and two FirstEnergy executives, legislative leaders have failed to take action.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9275\" src=\"https:\/\/www.commoncause.org\/ohio\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2024\/02\/Gerrymandering-300x207.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"345\" \/>\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/act.commoncause.org\/fundraising\/common-cause-ohios-redistricting-gear\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donate<\/a> to the Fair Districts efforts to get our volunteers \"End Gerrymandering\" t-shirts and beanies in the field."}}]},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v26.6 (Yoast SEO v27.1.1) -
