Thank you to those of you who were able to join us last night for Subodh Chandra\u2019s and Omar Noureldin\u2019s conversation about the rule of law and attacks on due process.<\/p>\r\nThis was a fascinating discussion on due process and the rule of law between two eminent civil rights lawyers. Click here<\/b><\/a>\u00a0for the recording<\/b>.\r\n\r\nCommon Cause Ohio hosted the event with the Ohio Fair Courts Alliance and ACLU of Ohio and the League of Women Voters of Ohio as co-sponsors.\r\n

The event featured work and advice from Subodh Chandra, a civil rights attorney whose career includes high-profile cases such as voting-rights litigation against various voter-suppression schemes<\/a>. He may be best known for representing Tamir Rice\u2019s parents in their\u00a0law<\/span>suit against the city\u00a0of<\/span>\u00a0Cleveland.\u00a0Omar Noureldin<\/a>\u00a0is the Senior Vice President\u00a0of<\/span>\u00a0Policy and Litigation Strategy at Common Cause. Prior to his tenure at Common Cause, he was Senior Counsel for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department\u00a0of<\/span>\u00a0Justice.<\/p>\r\nThis is not a drill.\u00a0Due process\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0rule<\/span>\u00a0of<\/span>\u00a0law<\/span>\u00a0are under constant attack. We are witnessing the near daily disregard\u00a0of<\/span>\u00a0constitutional protections at the federal level and, at best, a slippery slope\u00a0of<\/span>\u00a0law<\/span>making here in Ohio.\r\n\r\nSo many people want to know\u00a0what they can DO<\/b>.
